We provide accurate and up to date nutrition information for out of school hours care (OSHC) facilities. Our services are delivered by Accredited Practising Dietitians and will ensure your facility meets, and exceeds, the food and nutrition related elements of:
- National Quality Standard (NQS)
- Framework for School Age Care.
Menu assessments
This service will help to ensure that your menu meets the nutrition elements of the NQS and aligns with ACT school nutrition policy recommendations. Menu items are assessed against the National Healthy School Canteens Guidelines (NHSCG) which uses the traffic light criteria to categorise food and drinks according to their nutrient profile.
All menu assessment are undertaken by an Accredited Practising Dietitian and includes a comprehensive report with recommendations and recipes.

Staff training session – nutrition
A dietitian will visit your service to deliver a one hour infomative session that covers:
- nutritional concerns and requirements for primary school children
- Traffic Light System for menu items
- meeting special dietary needs.
Staff training session – nutrition & food handling
A dietitian fwill visit your facility and present a two hour professional development session that covers:
- nutritional concerns and requirements for primary school children
- Traffic Light System for menu items
- meeting special dietary needs
- food hygiene
- safe food handling practices.
Participants will receive a certificate of attendance.
Children’s cooking workshop
Our one hour practical cooking workshop includes hands on preparation of quick, easy and nutritious dishes for children to enjoy. All children receive recipes to take home.
