Our health and wellbeing services aim to inspire healthy eating by promoting the importance of good food and nutrition. Delivered by Accredited Practising Dietitians, we offer a wide range of community health and wellbeing services.

Seminars

Our one hour interactive nutrition presentations are designed to motivate and inspire participants to make healthy food choices for themselves and their families. Handouts on current nutrition and health issues are provided for all participants. Popular ACT community seminars include:

Making your food dollar stretch

Who says eating healthy is expensive? Get practical tips and advice on how to make the most of your food dollar when shopping, cooking and storing.

Meal planning

This session assists with the day-to-day planning of individual and family meals and includes ideas for healthy eating when dining out. Ideas are offered for managing the 5.00pm rush and keeping motivated to prepare meals rather than relying on takeaway.

Navigating Food Labels

Do you know how to read food labels? This session is designed to empower participants with the skills to know what to look for on food labels to help them select healthier foods. Presenters discuss guidelines for making healthy choices of products in the different food groups e.g. breads and cereals and dairy. This is a virtual supermarket tour!

Cooking demonstrations

Our cooking demonstrations focus on creating delicious, budget conscious dishes that are quick and easy to prepare. All demonstrations run for one hour and provide taste testing for up to 30 participants.

NA ACT will supply all equipment and ingredients required.
